Greetings from the Hanover Local Committee
Hanover. Read from behind, the name of the Lower Saxon state capital results in “re-von-naH”, i.e. “backwards from near”. In the creative play with the syllables of his hometown, the well-known Dadaism artist Kurt Schwitters ends with the conclusion that Hanover, when read forwards, strives for the immeasurable: “Vorwärts nach weit” (i.e forward to far). What a fitting quotation for the BiblioCon in Hanover! We also need ideas and creativity, we need to go new ways, think outside the box, release energy and experiment in order to master the challenges of the future.
Under this motto – “Vorwärts nach weit” – the Hanover libraries cordially invite you to the 111.BiblioCon.
Thanks to numerous places of interest and attractive leisure activities, Hanover guarantees a rich supporting programme for your stay. Whether highlights, such as the world-famous Herrenhäuser Gardens or the Hanover Adventure Zoo, Europe’s largest city forest Eilenriede, the spacious Maschsee or the picturesque Old Town – the state capital has many facets.
In addition, the City of Science scores with its central location and our conference venue right next to the city park is also very well connected. The more than 100-year-old Hanover Congress Centrum (HCC) combines modern event technology with historical flair and offers ideal conditions for professional lectures and discussions as well as an intensive exchange with colleagues or the companies of the trade exhibition.
We look forward to welcoming you as our guests in May 2023.
