Library of the Hochschule Hannover
The library of Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH) primarily provides the approximately 10,000 members of the HsH with printed and electronic media, which can be searched using its own discovery system.
It is spread over four locations in close proximity to the faculties of the university:
The central library in Hannover-Linden has been extensively remodeled in recent years to meet changing user expectations. In 2021, RFID accounting was introduced.
The sub-library in Hannover-Ahlem serves the small but research-intensive Department of Biochemical Engineering. Plans are underway to convert it into an open library.
Through the integration of the former Protestant University of Applied Sciences, the library in Hannover-Kleefeld also became part of the HsH library. The sub-library Diakonie, Gesundheit und Soziales is the location of the university library with the highest circulation.
At the EXPO Plaza, the University Library operates the library in the Kurt-Schwitters-Forum together with the University of Music, Drama and Media. Among other things, Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts trains future library colleagues at this location.
The library made an early commitment to promoting open access. It has operated a university publication server (SerWisS – Server für Wissenschaftliche Schriften) for years and actively supports the university’s publishers with publications, including its own publication fund.
